Sit Down and Stay

A Kebab Restaurant, Not a Counter

Mazra is a full kebab restaurant. There are tables, there is service, and there is a reason to stay for a second round of mezze. Two dining rooms, one in San Bruno and one in Redwood City, both built around the same charcoal grill.

Order the way we eat at home: mezze in the middle of the table, skewers as they come off the fire, rice and salad to pass around, baklava at the end. Reservations are open at both rooms, and large tables are welcome.

What Lands on the Table

Skewers Off the Fire

Chicken, kofta, lamb, filet mignon, shrimp and oyster mushroom, brought out as they come off the charcoal.

Mezze for the Middle

Hummus, baba ghanoush, muhammara, halloumi and falafel, meant to be shared before anything else arrives.

Salads and Sides

Tabbouleh, fattoush, Arabic salad, basmati rice, warm pita and house pickles for the table.

Shawarma Carved to Order

Chicken and steak shawarma off the spit, wrapped or plated, whichever way the table is eating.

Where to Sit

San Bruno

The original room on San Bruno Avenue, five minutes off 101 and a short walk from the Caltrain station. It is the smaller of the two, which is why weekend dinner fills up early and why we take reservations for it.

Good for: two to six people, weeknight dinner, a plate before a flight out of SFO.

Redwood City

The newer room on Broadway, in the middle of downtown Redwood City. More space between tables, easier parking in the evening, and the room we point large parties toward when they call.

Good for: bigger groups, birthdays, a long dinner where the mezze keeps coming.
